Same Day Austin Courier Service: Myth Busters
My first day at Eagle Express was way back in 2010. That’s 14 years of boots-on-the-ground in the courier industry. I’ve seen many changes since my early days – added service options, expanded industries served, growing team, new home offices (like Eagle Express Austin courier service that opened January 2024!), the Eagle Express app, always improving website – changes are the name of the game because we believe in never settling for the status quo.
But there are also many things that have remained the same. The foundation of a place is just as important as the growth of a place. What hasn’t changed? Our leadership’s commitment to excellent service. Our obsession with on-time rates (that we carefully track and always seek to improve). Our focus on the safety of our team and every item we deliver. Our founding principle of honesty. Our focus on friendly deliveries, start to finish.
And here’s one thing that has also remained the same since our founding 40 years ago: we aim to bust up the myths surrounding the courier industry! Why? There are so many misconceptions about what we do and what we offer. For 14 years, I have been busting myths with clients, future clients and people who know nothing about the courier world! Here’s a few of my favorite BUSTED myths:
1. Couriers only deliver local. If I had a dollar for every time someone said “you only do local deliveries, right?” – I would be buying that $20 million yacht my kids keep begging me for! This myth is BUSTED. Yes, we deliver local – that means serving in and around our home offices. We are a same day Austin courier service AND a same day Dallas Fort Worth courier service. But that does not mean we ONLY deliver to those locations. Hardly! We are constantly handling deliveries throughout Texas and into neighboring states (Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico) and non-neighbor-ing states! Where a client needs us, we will go. No need to call in the big national providers. If you want a delivery made from Dallas to San Antonio or Dallas to Houston or Austin to Amarillo, Eagle Express is ready.
2. Couriers only deliver paper items. This myth is BUSTED. Sure, in the 80s, we did lots of mail runs, legal document runs and interoffice deliveries. But there was this big thing that happened in the 90s and 2000s… THE INTERNET. Suddenly, must-deliver papers could be easily emailed. Paper deliveries plummeted, but that didn’t matter much for us. We had ALWAYS been handling a variety of deliveries – medical, industrial, manufacturing, food & beverage, retail. At Eagle Express, our couriers deliver all sorts of items to all sorts of places.
3. Everything couriers deliver is small. BUSTED! This has always been a funny myth to me. For whatever reason, many people have in their minds that couriers only handle single, one-off items. That couldn’t be farther from the truth! We handle deliveries of all shapes and sizes – some require cars while others require vans and still others require box trucks. It may be one item, but it also might be thousands of items!
4. Deliveries are almost always rush deliveries. BUSTED! I’m not sure where this myth got it’s teeth, but it couldn’t be farther from the truth. Yes, we absolutely offer rush courier services in Austin. We also offer same day courier services in Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth. But we have a big part of our day that is spent on scheduled route deliveries in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and beyond! We aren’t just rush delivery experts, we are all-around logistics experts.
